Women’s Basketball Falls In Final Seconds To PSU Harrisburg

The Wesley women’s basketball team fell to .500 Wednesday night, when they fell to PSU Harrisburg 65-61 at home.

Wesley jumped out to an early 10-6 lead behind freshman Brionna Johnson. The Nittany Lions of PSU fought back, going on a 16-6 run sparked by a pair of threes by Kaitlyn Carmo, still Wesley took a 29-27 lead into the break.

A back and forth second half all boiled down to the final 35 seconds of the game. Wesley had possession with underneath Harrisburg’s basket, but the Nittany Lions forced a 5-second violation. PSU’s Jasmine Yanich’s reverse layup wouldn’t go, but the Lions got the offensive rebound, and swung it to Janel Brown, who connected on a corner three. Wesley’s three point attempt would go awry as Harrisburg knocked down one more free throw to push the game out of reach.
