Wesley Women’s Basketball Drops 3rd Straight

The Welsey women’s basketball team dropped their third straight game Saturday when they fell to St. Mary’s 62-51. The loss drops the Wolverines to 7-7 on the year.

The Wolverines would jump out to the early lead after Brionna Johnson was on fire to open. The Smyrna high school grad was scoring from everywhere. Johnson finished with 14 points and 19 rebounds. After she got going, other followed suit. But the lead wouldn’t hold, as the Seahawks made a charge the second half to get back into the game. Hot shooting from downtown by Nina Haller would be the difference.

The Wolverines return to action Wednesday when they travel to play at Salisbury University.
