Wesley wins big over Southern Virginia

Wesley (8-8) hosted Southern Virginia (4-12) on Saturday afternoon in a CAC match up. The Wolverines had a great first half performance balancing out their second half points.

The first half was all about Wesley who outscored Southern Virginia by 32 points, taking a 52-20 lead heading into halftime. However, the second half was not as stellar as their first, Southern Virginia fought their way back into the game outscoring the Wolverines 45-14. It was not enough to steal the game, but it put pressure on Wesley, who at one point had a 32 point lead.

The Wolverines had four players in double digits for scoring and two of those players also notching double digit rebounds as well – Alexus Stroud (19 points), Tiyanna Gibbs (19 points), Tiara White (14 points/11 rebounds), and Brionna Johnson (13 points/18 rebounds).

Wesley takes a step towards reaching .500 after their win on Saturday; they are now 4-6 in the CAC. The Wolverines stole this game 83-65.
