Wesley Men’s Basketball Falls Late to St. Mary’s

The Wesley men’s basketball team fell at home Saturday afternoon to St. Mary’s 67-59. The loss drops the Wolverines to 7-8 on the year.

The teams would be in a battle early on with neither team being able to grab much of a lead. The Seahawks would have the hot hand from distance and were executing their sets while the Wolverines would have incredible individual performances to stay in it. St. Mary’s would take a 31-25 lead into the locker room. The second half, the Wolverines would find themselves down double digits before they would come charging back. Anthony Bowers would lead the way, finishing with 19 points and 3 assists. Wesley would find themselves with the lead with under 5 minutes to go, but Nick Laguerre would take over down the stretch for the Seahawks. He finished with a game high 31 points.

The Wolverines return to action Wednesday when they travel to play at Salisbury University.
