Washington Takes Down Parkside For Huge Win
The Washington boys basketball team picked up a big win Thursday night when they defeated Parkside 79-68. The win improves the Jaguars to 9-3, while the loss drops the Rams to 9-2.
The Jaguars would jump out to a quick lead thanks to a stifling defense and an offense that looked to be clicking on all cylinders. With a full court press and seemingly scoring coming from all five positions, the Jags would open up a 20 point lead half way through the second quarter. As time wore down in the first half, Juwan Williams would get a tip in for the Rams at the buzzer to make it a 15 point game at the break.
The second half Washington would keep it up. Shakur Cottman would score a huge and 1 half way through the third to help push the lead in further. The offense though came from Montraz Oliver who finished with a team high 16 to lead 5 different Jaguars that finished in double figures. The Rams would keep battling as Dajour Diggs kept his team in the game registering a game high 22, but it wasn’t enough.
