Washington Rebounds With Win Over Decatur
The Washington boys basketball team bounced back from their home loss to Wicomico High School by defeating Stephen Decatur 77-44. The win improves the Jaguars to 5-2, while the loss drops the Seahawks to 3-3.
The Jags jumped out to a huge lead thanks to strong play from all their starting five. Kamryn Somers, Marc Jones, and Shakur Cottman connected on long balls to quickly open up a lead. Shortly after that, Deshawn Parks made his presence felt down low, converting several tough turn arounds. In a blink of an eye, the Jags were up nearly 20 points half way through the first.
But after getting hit with the first punch, the Seahawks fought back. Jaron Johnson would begin to knock down a few shots and was also able to set up teammates like Keve Aluma for some easy bucket. But the deficit proved to be too much to overcome.
Washington returns to action Thursday when they host Pocomoke, while the Seahawks return to action Thursday when they travel to Snow Hill.
