UPDATE: Water tank groundbreaking set for Morris Mill

Officials say they bids for a new water tank for the Morris Mill area in Wicomico County are in, and construction is starting soon.
Wicomico County says the bids for the elevated water tank and distribution lines for Morris Mill Urban Service District. Officials say the bids have been accepted, and construction is expected to start within the month of January. A ground breaking ceremony has been scheduled for January 27th, at 9:00 AM, at the site of the tank, at the end of Slab Bridge Road in Fruitland.
This project is anticipated to give public potable water, and fire protection to more than 270 homes, by extending drinking water from the City of Fruitland. The water tank project is being funded by $8 million in grants from the US Department of Agriculture Rural Development and Maryland Department of the Environment.
Residents are expected to have water by summer or fall 2015, with the entire construction project wrapping up by winter of 2016.
Back in October of 2012, the chemical trichloroethene, was found in private wells in the area.
