UPDATE: Power restored to thousands of Salisbury Residents

Power has been restored to around 4700 people who were left in the dark Thursday morning.

Officials with Delmarva Power tell 47 ABC an equipment problem at a substation on Mt. Hermon road in Salisbury caused the outages.

The outage began around 7:30 AM Thursday morning and was restored at 9:19 AM.

Four schools in the area were reportedly affected by the outage.  School officials say Bennett Middle, Wicomico Middle, Parkside High, and Fruitland Primary have returned to normal operating procedures.
