UPDATE: Dad involved in Smyrna Amber Alert to return to Del., mother still missing

A Smyrna man, who was found in Indiana, after an Amber Alert was issued for his two missing children, will be returning to Delaware. State Police say 32-year-old Cortez Hamilton has waived his extradition hearing in Indiana, and will be heading back to the state.

Hamilton was reportedly arrested in Indiana on Sunday with the children, after there was an Amber Alert released for 4-year-old Colette Hamilton, and 2-month-old Cortez Hamilton Jr., along their mother 35-year-old Keisha Hamilton.

Keisha Hamilton has apparently not been found, there is still an active Gold Alert out for her. She was last seen at her home on Cayhill Lane, in the Twin Willows Development in Smyrna. Hamilton is described as a black woman, standing 5’6″ tall, weighting 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Once in Delaware, Cortez Hamilton will be charged with assault 2nd degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Sergeant David L. Weaver at Troop 3 at 302-741-2728 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. Tips can also be sent through the Tip Submit website.
