Two separate crashes shut down lanes in Accomack Co.

Two separate car crashes caused Northbound and Southbound lane closures on Route 13 in Accomack County on Saturday morning.
State police say around 4:40 a.m., troopers were called to a single vehicle crash on Route 13 near Tasley Road. A tractor trailer hauling approximately 50,000 pounds of milk reportedly overturned in the southbound lane, causing fuel and milk to leak into the roadway and ditch. Authorities say the driver John Eason, 54, of Easton, Maryland ran off the road and overturned in the median.
Eason suffered minor injuries but was not transported. We’re told he was charged with reckless driving.
Two hours later, authorities say a pickup truck traveling northbound on Route 13 drove into the back of a fire department vehicle owned by Tasley Volunteer Fire Company. The driver of the pickup truck Christopher Beauchamp, 59, suffered major injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Police say he will not be charged in the accident.
The lanes were cleared and opened shortly before 1 p.m.
