Sussex Tech Claims Georgetown Crown

Sussex Tech took claimed the Georgetown crown Friday night after they defeated Sussex Central 83-48. The win improves the Ravens to 5-5, while the loss drops the Golden Knights to 2-6.

The Ravens came out firing early on. Aubre Allen was active early on, scoring in transition as well as attacking the glass for easy bucket. Shi’Wan Sykes was doing the same and tallied 6 of Sussex Tech’s first 12 points to help the Ravens to a 12-2 lead. Sykes would finish with a game high 32 points in this one. Once they grabbed a lead, Sussex Tech began to press even further. Brandon Palmer was pushing the tempo as Tech opened up a big lead by half.

The Golden Knights continued to fight, regardless the score. Deron Doherty led Central offensively, finishing with 11 points.

The Ravens return to action next Thursday when they host Caesar Rodney, while Sussex Central Monday when they host St. Mark’s.
