SU Men’s Basketball Has Win Streak Snapped
The Salisbury University men’s basketball team saw their three game win streak get snapped Wednesday night when they fell to Marymount 60-56. The loss drops the Sea Gulls to 8-6 on the year.
The Gulls would find themselves in a battle early on. Justin Witmer would connect on a couple outside shots, but the Saints size down low controlled the paint. The Gulls were unable to score in the paint in half court sets, and Marymount controlled the boards as well. The Saints would take a 32-23 lead into the break. That cushion would hold through most of the second half before Salisbury would make a run half way through the period.
Witmer would connect on another long ball while, Connor Strickland would find the touch from the outside as well. SU would trim the deficit down to just 1 but could never get completely over the hump. The Saints held a 3 point lead with under 30 seconds to go when a dunk would seal the win.
Salisbury returns to action Saturday when they travel to Frostburg State.
