Polytech Stay Perfect In Conference, Downs CR

The Polytech boys basketball team remained undefeated in conference play after they defeated Ceasar Rodney 66-52 Wednesday night. The win improves the Panthers to 11-1, while the loss drops the Riders to 6-7.

The Riders came in as underdogs but they didn’t play like it to start. CR would jump out to the quick lead led by Jaquan Hooks who would finish with a game high 26. CR would take a 11-6 lead into the second quarter, but the Panthers would respond there. Led by their senior standout Juwan Gray, Poly would fight back to take the lead. Gray would pour in a team high 16 as Poly would take a 23-21 lead into the lockers rooms. The second half the Panthers would keep up the pressure as their lead continued to grow. Devaugh Mallory would find the shooting touch as he would add 13 points while the Panthers would go on to close it out for the win.

Polytech returns to action Friday when they travel to play Dover, while Caesar Rodney returns to the court Friday when they host Cape Henlopen.
