Poly Comes Out Swinging, Holds On To Down Dover
The house was packed at Polytech High school, all in attendance to see two Henlopen heavyweights go toe to toe, as Dover and Polytech took center stage Friday night. The night ended with Polytech handing Dover their first Henlopen loss of the season, 68-64.
Polytech jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the game, and a 22-5 lead after the first quarter, holding on for the rest of the game. Dover made the score respectable with a run late, but Poly was dominant from the start in this one.
Polytech big man Devaughn Mallory continued his big season, pouring in a game-high 21 points, while point guard Ricky Hicks and forward Juwan Gray scored 16 each. For Dover, junior forward Terrance Woodlin scored a team high 18, while sharpshooter Jordan Allen netted 16 for the Senators.
