Parkside Pulls Away Late To Top Delmar

The Parkside boys basketball team got win number 11 on the season, topping Delmar 83-71 in a late-season cross-state matchup.

It was the Rams that would get out to an early lead, up 22-14 after one quarter, but the Wildcats would claw back in the second. Delmar scored 25 points in the frame, including 9 by senior guard Larry Ennis. His 17 points at the break would lead Delmar into the half up 39-32.

In the second half, Parkside would again come out swinging, this time not looking back. The Rams would score 51 combined points in the second half, on the way to a 83-71 win. For Parkside, Dajour Diggs scored a team-high 27, with forward Colen Gaynor adding 20, and guard Gary Briddell with 18. For Delmar, Larry Ennis led all scorers with 31, while Shyheim Mitchell added 15, and KJ Trader pitched in with 13.
