Milford loses at home to Woodbridge

The Milford Buccaneers boys basketball team hosted the Woodbridge Blue Raiders in a Friday night showdown that led to a win for the visiting team.

Milford came out on top of the first quarter, 11-7, as well as leading at halftime, 23-17 – the Bucs played with energy and had good movement off the ball. However, the Blue Raiders were playing well enough in the first half to stay with Milford and not get too far behind.

In the third quarter, Woodbridge scored 17 points to Milford’s 7 points, which is where the Blue Raiders began to pull away leading 34-30 with one quarter to go. Heading into the fourth, Woodbridge would score 19 points while holding Milford to 15 points; although both offenses heated up in the last quarter of the game, the Blue Raiders did enough for to secure the win.

Next, Milford faces Laurel on Tuesday, January 13, at home – a game that was rescheduled from December 9th. Woodbridge also plays on Tuesday, January 13, but it will be an away game at Brandywine High School.
