Mardela Girls Basketball Best Crisfield

The Mardela girls basketball team remained in first place of conference Tuesday night with a 59-16 win over Crisfield. The win improves the Warriors to 12-1, while the loss drops the Crabbers to 4-11.

The Warriors would jump out the quick lead as their guards would harass the Crabbers into several turnovers to get out into the open court. There it was a lay up line for Demyra Selby and the rest of the offense as they would quickly build a double digit lead half way through the first. Mardela would take a 27 point lead into halftime, but the Crabbers continued to battle. Arielle Johnston would find the shooting touch, connecting on 2 long balls on her way to a team high 11 points. But the Warriors were not going to let this one slip away. Selby would continue to score in transition as she finished with 25 points, while Taylor Ross would stretch the court in the half court sets. Her outside shooting led her to 13 points on the day.

Mardela returns to action Thursday when they travel to play at Washington, while the Crabbers return to action Friday when they play Cambridge South Dorchester.
