Man charged with Child Abuse after altercation with stepson

A man is now behind bars after allegedly abusing his step-son.

According to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office in the early morning hours on New Year’s Eve, an altercation involving Anvar Kassim and his step-son turned physical.

Kassim at one point reportedly brandished a metal rod, three feet long, while grabbing his step-son around the neck.

Kassim now faces multiple charges including 1st degree assault and child abuse.
