Hornets Drop MEAC Opener To MSU

The Delaware State men’s basketball team dropped their MEAC Opener, falling at home to Morgan State 73-69 Saturday afternoon.

Morgan State got out to a 12 point lead mid-way thru the first half, but Delaware State was able to regain composure and grab a 30-28 lead at the break. The Hornets shot 47.8% (11-23) from the field in the first half. In the second half, Del State would lead by as much as 7 before losing the lead. Morgan only shot 9-25 (36%) in the second half, but made 29 free throws in the game to DSU’s 12, but made 23 in the second half, which would be the difference.

For DSU, big man Kendall Gray would record another double-double, netting 18 points and pulling down 22 rebounds. Amere May would add 17, but shot just 5-21 for the game. Morgan was led by Cedric Blossom’s 24 points, with Blake Bozeman chipping in with 22 points.
