Harrington man charged with resisting arrest

A Harrington man was arrested on Thursday, after he reportedly stole someone’s vehicle.
Harrington Police say on Thursday, Officers arrested 35-year-old Steven Huey, on a warrant related to a December 27th incident. According to the report, Officers responded to Huey’s Dorman Street home for reports of a possible suicidal suspect, and found Huey, who became uncooperative with Officers.
They were apparently able to get Huey into handcuffs, and take him to a local hospital for a mental evaluation. Police say their investigation also found that Huey had taken someone’s vehicle earlier in the day, without their permission, but did eventually return it. After taking Huey to the facility, Officers say they found a cigarette box that he tried to hide in the stolen vehicle, that had drug paraphernalia inside.
After an evaluation at the hospital, Huey was later transferred to a Psychiatric Facility for treatment. Police say they then filed warrants for Huey for the original incident, including tampering with physical evidence, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After treatment Huey reportedly turned himself into Harrington Police, where he was arrested and charged. He was then released on $4,000 bond.
