Dover Uses Strong Third Quarter To Push Past Cape
The Dover Senators used a strong third quarter to rise up, and knock down the Cape Henlopen Vikings 68-52 Thursday night in Lewes.
Although the Senators held a seven point lead at the half, Dover came out flat and uninterested, holding just a 16-13 lead after one. Cape was propelled by guard Drew Mulcahy, who scored 8 points in first.
The third was a different story, the Senators came out strong, pushing their seven point halftime lead to 16 by the end of the quarter. Guard Jordan Allen came out of halftime aggressive, scoring 13 in the frame, 6 of them from behind the arc, and three more from the free throw line to push the game out of reach. In all, Allen poured in a game high 23. Cape cut the lead to 9 in the fourth, but never got close enough to make a final run.
