Dover man arrested on 3rd DUI offense, after 3 vehicle crash

A Dover man is facing charges, after he reportedly drove under the influence, and caused a three vehicle crash.

Dover Police say on Saturday, just before 3:00 PM, Officers responded to the scene of an accident with injuries, on Walker Road at Saulsbury Road. An investigation then reportedly showed that a 2013 Nissan Altima was stopped behind a 2002 Jeep Cherokee at the intersection, when a maroon 2002 Mercury Mountaineer driven by 35-year-old Antoine Collier approached at a high rate of speed.

Police say Collier hit the back of the Altima, causing it to crash into the Cherokee. The driver of the Altima was rushed from the scene to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, where she was treated for injuries to her back and abdomen. Collier, who was apparently showing signs of heavy intoxication, was arrested for driving under the influence, and vehicular assault 2nd degree.

Collier has two prior DUI convictions, one from September 2001 and one in June 2013. He was then also charged with 3rd offense DUI, and cited for driving with a revoked license. Collier was later released, after posting a $1,900 bond.
