Delmar Takes Down Indian River
Delmar picked up another conference win Friday night after they took down Indian River 67-55. The win improves the Wildcats to 6-2, while the loss drops Indian River to 4-5.
The teams would find themselves in a battle the first half with Delmar grabbing the slight 14-12 lead after the first. The Wildcats found their rhythm though in the second period and took off thanks to the hot hand of Larry Ennis. The senior would start to connect on shots from the outside as well as scoring in transition as his team would take a 34-20 lead into the break. The teams would exchange bucket in the third as KeiJuan Major tried to shoot his team back into this one. He connected on long ball after long ball as the Indians clawed their way back to within single digits.
But Delmar would make the plays down the stretch to close this one out. Shane Leatherbury would connect on a huge three to push the lead back to double figures as Delmar would go on to close it out for the win.
Delmar returns to action Monday when they travel to play Salisbury Christian, while Indian River returns to action tomorrow when they travel to St. Thomas More.
