Delaware man sentenced for 2010 murder

A Delaware man convicted last month of stabbing and killing another man almost five years ago will spend the next 30 years in prison.

Juan Restrepo-Duque, 23, was sentenced today according to the Delaware Department of Justice. Just this past December, Restrepo-Duque was retried and a jury convicted him for the February 2010 murder of Kenton Wolf, 61, of Smyrna, also known as Wes Wolf.

Investigators say Restrepo-Duque stabbed Wolf 18 times and shot him with a BB gun 7 times. The two men reportedly met after connecting on a dating website.

According to reports, Restrepo-Duque claimed Wolf made a sexual advance.

He was originally convicted in February 2014. A new trial was ordered in May 2014.

A year before the original trial, the judge denied a defense motion to prohibit the state from seeking the death penalty, though the state opted not to seek it.
