Deer blamed for fatal accident in Salisbury

A freak deer accident in Salisbury has killed one woman and injured the another.
Maryland State Police say they responded to a car crash in the area of Nanticoke and Wells Road, Tuesday at about 6:30 PM. The accident reportedly happened when 67-year-old Peggy Dickerson, of Tyaskin, was driving westbound on Nanticoke Road and hit a deer that was crossing the road. Officers say the crash caused the deer to fly into the air and crash into the car of 69- year-old Joyce Green, of Quantico, who was traveling eastbound on Nanticoke Road. The deer reportedly went through the front windshield of Green’s car causing her to suffer a fatal head injury.
Dickerson was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both women were the only passengers in their vehicles when the accident happened.
