Decatur Girls Basketball Roll Indian River

The Stephen Decatur girls basketball rolled to a win Saturday night when they defeated Indian River 74-25. The win improves the Seahawks to 11-1, while the loss drops the Indians to 6-7.

The Seahawks would jump out to a quick lead as they were firing on all cylinders. Jillian Petito would run the point setting up Amya Mumford and Marina Jones for several easy lay ins. After they found their rhythm, Dayona Godwin got into the scoring column getting out in the open court for quick scores. The lead quickly grew to over 30. Even with the game well in hand, the Indians never gave in and continued to battle to the end.

Indians River returns to action Tuesday when they host Laurel, while Decatur returns to the court Monday when they host Crisfield.
