DE man on trial ordered to DHMH

A Delaware man sentenced to 106 years in prison for shooting into a police officer’s home has been found incompetent to stand trial in similar shootings in Maryland.
Laurel man David Watson, 26, faces sixty charges in three shootings at the homes of police officers in Wicomico County. According to state’s attorney Ella Disharoon, Watson was ordered to be committed to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene on Monday.
Watson was found incompetent to stand trial in December.
A review hearing has been set in his case in Wicomico County Circuit Court for June 12th.
Watson’s co-defendant, Orrin Joudrey, pleaded guilty in April 2014 to one charge in each of the December 2012 incidents.
His sentencing is scheduled for January 23rd in Wicomico County.
