Crisfield man charged in connection to two Wicomico Co. burglaries

A Crisfield man has been charged, after he apparently broke into a vacant home in Salisbury.

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says on January 7th, just after 1:20 PM, a Deputy responded to reports of a residential burglary on Riverside Drive Extended. Once on scene, the Deputy apparently learned that an off-duty officer had see someone on the property that was known to be vacant, and detained him.

An investigation by the Deputy reportedly revealed, that the suspect, 30-year-old Michael Ward, tried to kick open a wooden door, in an attempt to burglarize the home. Investigators were also reportedly able to link Ward to a burglary on Sharps Point Road, where he forced open the front door to the home, by breaking out the door’s glass.

Ward was charged with burglary 4th degree, and malicious destruction of property, and is now being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center on $15,000 bond.
