Colonel Richardson Drops North Caroline In Rivalry Matchup
The Colonel Richardson boy’s basketball team collected a big road victory Thursday night, defeating North Caroline, 62-50, in a rivalry match of the Bayside North. The Colonels improve to 5-5, while the Bulldogs move to 6-4 for the season.
Colonel Richardson jumped out to an early lead with a 16-6 tally by the end of the first quarter, but North Caroline would start to find its scoring in the second quarter, dropping 15 points, including an offensive rebound and a put back at the buzzer by David Bailey Jr. The Bulldogs kept chipping away at the deficit in the third, outscoring the Colonels, 13-9, but Colonel Richardson finished strong in the final quarter to pull out the rivalry victory.
Colonel Richardson’s David Dickerson led all scorers with 18 points, while North Caroline was paced by Ja’mion Franklin’s 16 points.
The Colonels travel back home for their next game against Cambridge South Dorchester for a 5:30 tip on Tuesday, while North Caroline heads on the road to Queen Anne’s for a 6:30 start on Tuesday.
