Christine O’Donnell Faces Lawsuit

Former U.S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell is facing some serious allegations.

She’s apparently accused of converting at least $20,000 in campaign contributions for her personal use.

The suit, filed by the Federal Election Commission in Wilmington on Monday names O’Donnell, her campaign committee and committee treasurer as defendants.

The allegations involve utility and rent payments at a Greenville townhouse; that served as O’Donnell’s headquarters, during her 2010 Senate campaign.

The election commission accuses her of living upstairs in that town house for ten months. Federal authorities want the tea party favorite to pay an amount equal to the converted funds, and for the defendants to pay civil penalties.

At this time O’Donnell has not made any formal comments regarding to suit.
