Cambridge Holds On Late To Topple Kent Island
The Cambridge-South Dorchester boys basketball team saw a 15 point lead at the half, and a 26 point lead midway thru the third quarter vanish, before holding up in the final minute to take down Kent Island 60-54 on Friday night.
The Vikings, who led 10-1 after one, and 25-10 at half, saw their big lead dwindle down to as little as four, before the final horn went off. Kent Island caught fire from the three point line in the second half, nailing 6 three’s in the final 16 minutes, but it was not enough.
Glenn Cropper and Michael Richardson each scored 12 to pace CSD, while freshman point guard Naail Thompson added 9. Kent Island was led by Zach Goodrich’s game-high 21 points, and guard Dallas Miller’s 12 points, all from behind the arc. CSD is back in action Tuesday when they travel to Bayside North leading Kent County, while Kent Island host St. Peter & Paul on Monday.
