Breaking New Year’s Resolutions: A New Tradition?

Experts say over 40% of U.S. adults make new years resolutions but only about 8% actually keep them.

47 ABC caught up with one man who, for the first time in about 20 years, is approaching the new year in a completely new light.

“Almost every year for 20 years, I resolved to lose weight. It just didn’t happen.” Explains Jon Conley. ” I kind of started setting goals this year as “through the year” — not just new year’s. It seems like when you do it all in one shot, you just don’t have the fortitude to stick with it.”

Experts say rather than giving up on resolutions, people should give themselves at least six weeks to just try.
