UPDATE: Two Dorchester Co. elementary schools evacuated after bomb threats

School officials confirm to 47 ABC, Choptank Elementary and Maple Elementary were evacuated this afternoon after two bomb threats.

Officials say the two schools were evacuated to their emergency locations as a precautionary measure but, Cambridge police confirm, there was no viable threat.

Dorchester County Superintendent, Dr. Henry Wagner, released a statement to 47 ABC saying:

“We are pleased that our protocols ran smoothly today. I am proud of our relationship with law enforcement and how our students staff performed. While we are distressed someone would do something like this, we hope that person would be brought to justice.”

Cambridge Police have cleared the scene. School officials tell 47 ABC school will resume tomorrow.
