UPDATE: Son allegedly kills father with crossbow in Harrington

Police say a 17-year-old boy allegedly killed his father by using a crossbow.

The 41-year-old victim reportedly died from an abdominal wound.

According to reports, Harrington Police responded to Park Brown Road around 9:45 AM on Thursday morning to check on the well-being of a man. Co-workers reportedly told police that he had not been to work in a couple of days.

Once at the house, police say the man’s teenage son claimed he may have killed his father.

After placing the 17-year-old under arrest, police say they found the victim dead in a bedroom.

“Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident, although the motive has not been established at this time,” says Corporal Gary Fournier with the Delaware State Police.

47 ABC is not releasing the names involved in this case until it is determined whether the suspect will be charged as an adult.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
