Two arrested, one wanted, for air conditional thefts in Kent Co.

Police in Kent County have arrested two, and are looking for one more, in connection to the theft of more than 15 air conditioner units in the county.

Delaware State Police say it all started in early December, after several residents in the north Dover area had air conditioning units stolen from their homes, during the month of November. Police say within the Pinewood Acres development alone, there were seven incidents, so Detectives centralized their investigation there, and through interviews with witnesses, were able to develop suspects in the case.

On December 12th, Detectives say they found that 22-year-old Tyler Selheimer-Parton, of Dover, had pawned a Troy Built log splitter that had been stolen from a home on Pine Cone Drive in Pinewood Acres, earlier in the day.

On December 19th, Police say 25-year-old Devin Winchester, of Dover, had sold three air conditioner coils for scrap, that matched with three air conditioner units that had had their coils stolen overnight. According to the report, in both of these incidents, the two suspects were driving the same Jeep Cherokee, with the same Delaware plates.

Police say a third suspect, 18-year-old Taylor Parton, of Dover, was also involved, and was seen with Selheimer-Parton outside of a home on Balsam Drive, in Pinewood Acres taking an air conditioner unit, but fled once seen. This apparently happened around December 5th, in the middle of the day.

On Monday, Troopers arrested Parton and Winchester, at a local scrap yard, where they were apparently trying to scrap some materials. Both were charged with 15 counts of theft, 12 counts of criminal trespass, eight counts of criminal mischief, conspiracy, and selling stolen property. Parton is being held at Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $9,700 secured bond, while Winchester was held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $12,850 secured bond.

Police say Selheimer-Parton is still wanted in connection to these crimes, on the same charges. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Det. M. Weinstein at 302-741-2813 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. Tips can also be submitted to the DSP Mobile Crime App, texting DSP to CRIMES (274637), or by visiting the Tip Submit website.
