Tolliver’s Game Winning 3 Powers Sussex Tech Over Indian River

Dagsboro, DE – Sussex Tech was dead in the water. Indian River knew it. The Indians were at the line up 2 with 9 seconds to go.

Then Erykah Tolliver flipped the script. 

The Ravens would rebound the missed free throw, throw it ahead to the senior and she would deliver the game winning 3 as time expired to power Sussex Tech improbably past Indian River.

The teams would be in a battle to open the game, with neither team grabbing much of a lead. The Ravens full court press would lead to several quick buckets for Para Washam. The Indian hung tough thanks to some great play from Maggie Allison and Taylor Billinger. Allison would crucial in breaking the Ravens press and getting the Indians into their sets. And once they were there, Billinger would bring them home. The senior finished with a game high 17 points. 

The Indians would rally in the 4th from down 3 to taking a 3 point lead with 50 seconds to go. After the Ravens hit a couple clutch free throws to cut into the lead, they would foul and send an Indians player to the line with 9 seconds remaining. After she missed a pair, Tolliver would end the game with her game winning heroics. 

Sussex Tech returns to action Tuesday when they travel to play Dover, while Indian River returns to action Tuesday to host Lake Forest.
