Sussex Tech Snaps Skid With Win Over Randallstown

Sussex Tech snapped their losing skid Tuesday night with a big 86-69 win over Randallstown. The win improves the Ravens record to 3-5 on the year.

The Ravens had a rough start to the Governor’s Challenge tournament, falling in their opener to Bishop Ireton 71-69 in overtime, and then on Monday to Flowers off a buzzer beater. That frustration showed on Tuesday, as they unleashed it on the Rams. The Ravens were attacking from the very start, as Ta’Von Abbott would control the tempo. He routinely broke down his man, and set up his teammates for easy score. But the Ravens got contributions from everyone. ShiWan Sykes finishes with a game high 23 points, but was also making his presence felt on the glass as well as finding the open man with some gorgeous passes. Aubre Allen did it all as well. Whether it was pushing the rock in the open court, posting up, hitting jumpers, crashing the boards and finishing put back, Allen was terrorizing the Rams all night long.

The Ravens would take a 20-12 lead after the first and watch it grow to 62-43 by the end of the 3rd. Sussex Tech returns to action next Monday when they host James M. Bennett.
