Sussex Tech Guts Out Win At Indian River

The Sussex Tech boys basketball team snapped their two game losing streak by gutting out a 68-62 win at Indian River. The win improves the Ravens to 2-2, while the loss drops the Indians to 2-2.

The Ravens would open the game on fire and take a quick 8-0 lead, but the Indians would come right back. Kei’Juan Major would aggressively attack the hole and finish several lay ins to help his team battle back. They would be tight headed into the locker room before Tech would take a good lead in the third. Shi”Wuan Sykes would force the issue in transition and finish at the cup time and time again. But just when it looked like the game was out of reach, the Indians would make one last push. Major would shoot his team right back in it as he finished with a game high 34 points, but it wasn’t quite enough. Sykes would put the game away on his way to finishing with 29 points himself.

The Indians return to action Monday when they host Seaford, while the Ravens travel to play Smyrna on Thursday.
