Sussex Central tops Harford Christian in a second half win
The first half Harford was solid on both sides of the ball – their shots were falling and they were playing energetic defense – they headed into the locker room at halftime up 28-24.
The second half was a different story – Sussex Central came out ready to play – attacking the hoop and knocking down important shots to give them the pull ahead lead 41-39.
The fourth quarter, Sussex Central was not making smart passes, which led to several turnovers; however, their defense helped keep them in the game. They were getting big rebounds and blocking shots.
Harford came back to pull ahead on a free throw with just under five minutes to go in the game, but with 35 seconds to go Sussex Central made the go-ahead bucket off of a rebound.
Sussex Central went on to hold their lead and win the game after Moe Epps nearly made a half-court buzzer shot.
Sussex Central’s leading scorer was Amontay Clayton with 18 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks.
