Sussex Central Coast Past North Dorchester

Sussex Central jumped out to a big lead and was able to hold on for a 61-41 win over North Dorchester in their bracket championship game of the Governor’s Challenge. The win improves the Golden Knights to 2-4 on the year.

Central used it’s clear advantage of speed and athleticism at the guards and wings spots to attack the Eagles defense early. Jordaan Brummell, Ethan Lambert were getting by their defenders, getting into the paint for dish offs or pulling up for mid range jumpers. The Eagles defense scrambled but often times found themselves out of position and that was costly. But for what they lacked in speed, they made up with presence in the paint. More specifically, DaJon Pittman did. The big man finished with a monster double double, 16 points and 15 rebounds and did everything he could to keep his team in this one, but the Golden Knights weren’t about to let North Dorchester back into the game. Andre Barham finished with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the Eagles while the Golden Knights were led by Amontay Clayton’s 11 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assits, whle Brummell added 11 points and 4 rebounds and Richard Flemming finished with 12 points and 4 rebounds.
