Salisbury Mayor presents big check to 47 ABC

Mayor James Ireton announced that 47ABC and its sister stations Delmarva’s CW3 and Me-TV have been selected to receive a grant from the City of Salisbury to assist with the cost of exterior rehabilitation work to their headquarters in the Downtown Historic District. A check in the amount of $18,650 was presented by Deborah Stam, Community Resource Development for the City, and Salisbury Mayor James Ireton to 47ABC’s General Manager Kathleen McLain.

The City of Salisbury received the funding for the grant from the Community Legacy Program of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). The program is designed to aid in the revitalization of the Downtown area by fostering the growth of new businesses and assisting expanding businesses. McLain expressed her appreciation by saying that “Marquee Broadcasting has made huge investments in its Downtown headquarters by completing the upgrade to HD, expanding the number of employees, adding departments and otherwise growing the broadcast and digital sides of the business. This grant enables us to move ahead with an exterior facelift significantly ahead of schedule. Our thanks and appreciation go out to the City for selecting us for this designation.”
