Salisbury man arrested on attempted murder charges at local seafood restaurant

A Salisbury man is facing attempted murder charges, after he reportedly fired a gun at his wife inside a Wicomico County business.

Salisbury Police say on Sunday, just before noon, Officers responded to Skipjack Seafood on Old Ocean City Road, where they met with a woman who said that she had had a fight with her husband. The victim reportedly told Officers that 45-year-old John Crockett had shot a shotgun at her, while she was inside the business.

According to the report, the woman had gone to Skipjack’s to meet with Crockett, when they started arguing.  during which the woman started walking away. As she did so, Police say he grabbed his gun, and fired a single round at the victim. The victim was apparently not hurt, and was able to leave the store before calling Police.

Crockett was arrested at the scene, and charged with attempted 1st and 2nd degree murder, assault 1st and 2nd degree, and reckless endangerment. He is now in the custody of Wicomico County Central Booking.
