Salisbury Fraternal Order of Eagles brings holiday magic to children

The excitement clearly couldn’t be contained at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, as nearly one hundred children patiently awaited the arrival of Santa Claus.

47ABC asked some of the children at the event what they were asking Santa for, and below are some of the answers we received.

“A frozen collection.”
“Some marbles.”
“Barbie dolls.”
“Papa soul.”
“Edible erasers.”
“A talkie talkie.”
“For the ravens to go to the super bowl.”

Sharon Ennis, the ladies auxiliary president says, “I love seeing the kid’s faces light up. I have grand kids and to me Christmas is a very special time. To know that we are able to help brighten some of the kids in the community, I love it.”

The Fraternal Order of Eagles holds a free Christmas party open to every child in the community, to get a little taste of the holiday spirit before the 25th.

This year, the eagles received a hefty donation from Toys for Tots, allowing every child to walk away with a gift.

Michael Layton, who was dressed as Santa Claus for the children says, “You see so many smiling faces, and it makes it worth it.”
