Patterson Pulls Away Late, Drops Wi-Hi

After losing a late lead and taking an upset loss the night before, the Patterson Clippers took control and finished strong, taking out the Wicomico Indians 60-52 at the Governor’s Challenge Saturday night.

Patterson held a 27-23 lead at the half, after holding WiHi to 35% shooting. The Clippers forced 8 turnovers in the first half, and outrebounded the Indians 14-8.

The game was tied at the end of the third after Nelson Brown hit a half court buzzer beater. In the fourh, Patterson would hold a 52-48 lead with 3:37 to play when Lionel Batson would get an and-1 to bring the Indians within one.

A couple of turnovers and a crucial charge call would go in the favor of Patterson as they hit the necessary free throws down the stretch to win.
