Parkside Falls Late To Friends School of Baltimore

One day after pulling out their biggest win of the season in dramatic fashion, the Parkside boys basketball team dropped a heart breaker late to Friends School of Baltimore 54-52.

The Rams would be in a tight battle throughout the first half against the Quakers, and find themselves tied at the half. Friends would come out of the locker room though and throw the first punch, grabbing a 5 point lead half way through the quarter, but the Rams would claw their way back. Dajour Diggs would find Ray Williams for a corner three, to get his team back within two. Then Diggs would miss a runner but Shawny’e Jones came flying in for the put back at the buzzer to tie the game headed into the 4th.

There the Quakers would again take the lead, pulling ahead by 4 with 4 minutes left. That when Colen Gaynor got into the act, scoring 3 straight buckets to tie up the match with a minute left. After a Quakers bucket, the Rams would again find a way to tie the game with 15 seconds left after Keyante Kelly connected on a short jumper on the baseline. Then as time wore down, Diggs would be aggressively challenging the ball at mid court where he was called for a hand check, awarding the Quakers to free throws that they would knock down. The Rams were down to their last hope, but a Juwan Williams 3 point attempt at the buzzer fell just short.
