Ocean City welcomes “Hometown Heroes” banner

The Ocean City Elks Lodge Veteran’s Committee has received clearance from the city council for their “Hometown Heroes” banner program.
20 banners will read the names of 20 active duty military members from Worcester County, and will stretch from the inland pier up to Fourth Street on the board walk.
Public Works will be putting the banners up sometime in the spring, but the lodge is hoping for late April, so they can be up in time for Ocean City’s Springfest.
The banners were all paid for by local organizations and sponsors. The Ocean City Elks Lodge says if anyone has a name they would like to submit for the banner, they still have spaces available.
Contact Lodge 2645 Veterans’ Committee Chairman Pat Riordan for further information on the banners at (443) 623-6162.
