MSP warning of suspicious sales activity in Salisbury

Authorities in Salisbury are warning residents of suspicious sales activity in the area.
Maryland State Police – Salisbury Barrack says on Tuesday, Troopers responded to a home on Cherry Way, where the resident told them that a man had come to the door, trying to sell ADT Security.
According to the report, around 7:00 PM, the man knocked on the door of the house, but the resident didn’t open it. Police say the “salesman” then became agitated, and was very determined to get the resident to open the door, and get into the home.
The resident eventually called 911, but the man had apparently fled the area by the time Authorities had arrived. Troopers reportedly contacted the name on the business card, Joseph VanArsdale, who told them that he did work for ADT Security, but when Troopers contact ADT Corporate Headquarters, they couldn’t verify his employment.
Police are reminding residents to be cautious, and report and suspicious activity to 911. They say that the holiday season seemingly brings more scams, identity theft, and those looking to prey on others for their own benefit.
