Making the most of your new holiday tech

Nowadays, after every holiday season a fair number of us become new owners of consumers sort of new electronic device.

After receiving, that new device how do you take care of it.

It starts by getting a protective case for your device.

“a lot of people come back in with cracked phones, cracked screens, stuff like that so damage is going to be a big thing.” Said Malcom Van Sciver, who is the computing, mobile, and tablets lead at the Best Buy in Salisbury.

Van Sciver continued to emphasize the importance of screen protection “Make sure you get a case for it for sure.” he said, before describing another protective product new tech owners can make use of. “Screen shield definitely, they actually make some screen shields nowadays that are shock resistant, so that way if you drop the phone itself, it will actually help protect the screen from being cracked.”

The same concept applies for tablets. A bigger screen means a bigger risk of cracking.

But that’s the the risk side of the coin, the reward, is enhanced viewing power.

Van Scriver said, “Some of the top uses for the tablet, because it is a much larger screen than a smartphone, are going to be videos, Youtube, Hulu, Netflix, stuff like that so we can watch movies on a much larger screen.” when describing the video capabilities of the newer tablets on the market.

Lastly, Malcom told 47 ABC that while the new devices can serve many different functions, they lack in the sound department. That’s where he implied, bluetooth speakers come into play.

He said “if you something like an external speaker, you can connect via bluetooth. They have that technology built into them now, so you can actually set the speakers behind you, you can get a mini surround sound going on.”

And remember, any electronic device can be made better with the 47 ABC mobile application.
