Local boy scout troop gives back this Christmas

A local boy scout group is giving back this holiday season.
Over 60 members of Boy Scout troop 817 and a local Salisbury Elks Lodge gathered Christmas Ever morning to pack and deliver over 100 boxes of groceries. Those boxes included baked goods, bread, and other essentials to make a delicious Christmas dinner. Officials say those supplies go to people in need across Delmarva.
“This is so important for the needy there are so many of unfortunate folks that are in our area,” says Bob Hurley, with the Salisbury Elks Club #817, “…and we try to do this all year long, not only Christmas Eve, but throughout the entire year to help or community.”
Officials say their motto has always been “Elks elevating America”. In the last 10 years, they have donated $1,000,000 to this effort.
