Kiowa Ave. residents react to second shooting

Some Kiowa Avenue residents are on edge after a woman was shot in the head on Christmas Day.
“It’s not common, but it’s not uncommon, I see the cops out here a lot.” Said one resident who requested to not have their identity revealed.
An investigation into the Christmas Day shooting led to the arrest of Jack Braboy, a 24 year old, who police say was identified as the shooter by neighbors.
Friday, authorities say the female victim died from her injuries.
No word yet on a possible motive or if the incident was random.
This just 10 days after a drive-by shooting on the other end of Kiowa Avenue, where multiple shots fired. That time no one was struck.
The same resident who asked to not be identified, also said: “A lot of people are talking like they don’t want to come outside. They’re going to school, work, and home because there’s just too much going on.”
A second resident, who also asked to remain unidentified, spoke on the threat the recent shootings pose on the neighborhood, saying: “it’s a big threat, you don’t know if your kids are going to be safe, you don’t know if your home is going to be there when you get there or if its going to be shot up, you don’t know if one day you just come here and everyone in your house is dead.” and “it’s a threat on the people that have been here for years that’s trying to make this community something.”
Braboy was initially facing attempted murder charges, but in light of the victims death, officials say additional charges will be filed.
